Blue Skies

The clouds have been a little ominous around here lately.  It rained for about 48 hours straight this week, and this morning we were left with this.  I thought it would turn into another grey, rainy, ponytail day.  But in a few minutes, there was hope on the horizon.
See that tiny little patch of blue and that light peeking through the dark grey?
The blue was persistent.

...and the clouds looked more white than grey, more light and fluffy...
By mid-afternoon the sun and the blue sky had overtaken almost all of the grey.

I love that the blue is always there and the sun is always waiting.  It doesn't go away.  The clouds just temporarily hide it from our view.
"Many of us, in moments of personal anguish, feel that God is far from us.  The pavilion that seems to intercept divine aid does not cover God, but occasionally covers us.  God is never hidden, yet sometimes we are, covered by a pavilion of motivations that draw us away from God and make Him seem distant and inaccessible."       - President Henry B. Eyring, October 2012 General Conference
Those clouds reminded me to always be hopeful.  They reminded me that Heavenly Father is always there, waiting for us to come to Him.  We just need to remember to come.  I am so grateful for reminders, for hope, for blue skies and sunshine.  And also for an occasional grey day that reminds me to be good, be patient, and never forget that there is more brilliant blue coming soon.
